As well as training your body I will be training your mind to develop a keen awareness of your nutritional needs to fuel your body while performing your exercise regime. Diets aren't about limitation of foods, they are about eating the correct foods. |

So
you have been training hard and if you have been subject to Optimum
Performance Training then you have been given some of the most cutting edge
training methods available, but is that enough? I
have taken another step to improving the service that I provide to you with
Optimum Performance Fuel. Optimum Performance Fuel is a range of nutrition
based services designed to help streamline your training and make sure that
the fuel going in to your body is the appropriate type and quantity to match
the exercise performed and the goals that you have set.
There are now three nutrition services available as part of the Optimum
Performance Fuel range, one or more may be appropriate for you!
Nutrition Appraisal Checklist
The Nutrition Appraisal Checklist is a general list of nutrition based
questions which your trainer will go through with you in order to show you
what kind of foods are important to your diet whilst at the same time giving
you a better underlying knowledge of nutrition. The questions are given
marks for level of importance and the answers given can then be tallied up
and an overall score given. The check list can be taken away for future use
and reference to see how your score improves as your diet improves.
Food Apportioning Appraisal A
Food Apportioning Appraisal is designed to show how you have been
apportioning your diet in the same way that you would see the foods on your
plate. It can then be shown whether the segmentation of your food types is
correct and which foods you could be lacking in or overloading on. It is a
simplistic and very visual way of understanding your food.
The first step to evaluating your food apportioning is to complete a weeks
worth of daily food consumption in the way of a Daily Food Diary. This can
then be handed in to your trainer for assessing.
After completing your Daily Food Diary and returning it to your trainer, it
will then be analysed and returned to you along with a Daily Food Diary
Apportioning Results form which summarises your diet and how it has been
apportioned, a Food Apportioning Guide which outlines correct apportioning
and describes how your results are found and finally a Nutrition Review and
Comments Form with some of your trainers thoughts and suggestions about your
dietary needs.
Calorie Expenditure Appraisal If
you take your training and nutrition seriously then you will need to know a
bit more about what food categories and quantities your body requires. If
you do not get these correct for your body type and training type then it
could mean the difference between failure and success, be it in competition
or personal goals of achievement.
The Calorie Expenditure Appraisal is designed to calculate your needs from
the beginning to end of each day of the week based on your body type,
lifestyle and exercise program.
The first step of your appraisal is to complete a Calorie Expenditure
Application Form which will help your trainer build up a picture of your
bodily requirements throughout a six day period, subjects include; BMR,
lifestyle, goals and a weekly exercise summary.
After you have completed the application form your trainer will take your
information away for analysis. When the analysis is completed your
application will then be returned and you will be provided with the
following;
·
Calorie Expenditure
Results & Functional Requirements form; this will outlay General Daily
Requirements (GDI), exercise expenditure for each phase of the day conducted
and daily averages and total daily expenditure
·
Calorie Intake
Percentage Guide which you will be able to use to calculate your own
macronutrient requirements and convert to grams and grams per kilogram of
bodyweight
·
Recommended Dietary
Intake Guide for your reference and calculations
·
Nutrition Review &
Comments Form with some of your trainer’s notes and recommendations. In
all you will be provided with enough information for your present and future
training needs to ensure that you are providing your body with the correct
fuel type and quantity enabling you to excel to new levels in your health
and fitness, please contact me if you would like to know more or book in an
appointment.
