Snorkelling & Free Diving Experience

Finally it looks like I will soon have some dates for you. Sorry for the delay, but Steve at Mavericks Diving is not the easiest person to pin down!

It looks like there will be 2 hours, either all in the six meter deep dive tank or maybe some in the class room. I don't want to say too much yet but I should have an email from him very soon.

Sorry to all those weighting expectantly for date for the snorkelling, but if the man ever gets back to me  then you will be the first to know!

Dragon Martial Arts Competition 2008

 Times and dates now through!

This years competition will be held on Sunday 5th October at Great Bentley Village Hall, Great Bentley (opposite the railway station). Enrolment  begins at 09:30am and closes at 10:00am. Categories include; sparring, team sparring, fixed step pushing hands, open hand forms, weapon forms and 2/3 person routines.

Results & Tributes:

I would like to thank you Ben Craigie, Tessa Aston and Leo Borwick for showing commitment and dedication to Shui Tao, me and most importantly themselves. Tessa Aston deserves a medal just for turning up never mind the spectacular performance she showed. You have to remember that Dragon Martial Arts students live and breath competition and practice for this all year round. You will have seen just how well they achieved in competition worldwide at the opening ceremony. So we took a team of four including 1 yellow belt and 1 orange belt.

Results:

Women's Fixed Step Pushing Hands

Bronze - Tessa Aston

Men's Free Style Sparring Team Event

Gold - Ben Craige included

Tributes:

Tessa Aston was 3 points shy of a silver medal against Dragon's best female student Sarah Healey in the women's pushing hands.

In the men's pushing hands both Ben and Leo lost their first round matches to the eventual winners in their weight categories, bad luck maybe?

There are no bronze medals awarded in the forms, but if there had been Ben Craigie would have won it.
